In addition to the emails that go out from the Orbiit platform for each engagement, it can be helpful to promote the conversations internally to drive sign-ups. After all, your community is most familiar with you, so communicating with them about the engagement on multiple platforms can be a great way to increase awareness. Here are some creative tips and tricks to increase engagement. Got one to add to the list? Drop us a line through the chatbot.

1. Promote your member match program on your internal member-facing website.

Build an internal page to promote the member match program. Explain the benefits of the program by including value-driving metrics and testimonials. Later on, after a few matching rounds, we can add the names of your power-users (members with the most opt-in) especially if their names are well-known in the community. Don't forget to include the live registration link!

To get started, use the frameworks we’ve built:

2. Share the registration link in any communications that you send before/during the week emails go out.

You will typically receive your registration link on the day your form goes live, at which point you can distribute it wherever you like. Here's some sample text below that you can use across multiple platforms. Feel free to copy and edit as you see fits. *Items to be reviewed/updated are italicized.

3. Include the registration link in your email signature (for internal communications only) before/during the week emails go out.

Since you're in touch with your community frequently, your email signature is a great place to promote sign-ups. Just make sure you're adding the link to internal emails only. *Items to be reviewed/updated are italicized.

Example: Email signature line

Reserve your spot for a 1:1/small group conversation with a {{Organization Name}} peer!

πŸ’‘ We recommend embedding the link over the whole line.

4. Share great testimonials from prior rounds.

Showcasing those who haven't signed up what they're missing is a great way to increase engagement. You can pull some great testimonials from the platform and include them in an email or posting on an internal channel. With the release of the new Email Statistics dashboard, you can now have a better insight into members who only open the emails but don't sign up. See the screenshot of how you can access that.

5. Encourage managers and other leaders to promote engagement among their teams.

Reach people at a team level by asking managers (or if you're a fund/community, fellow leaders within your organization who have regular communication with members) to encourage people to sign up, highlighting benefits like skill development, cross-functional communications, peer support, and interconnectedness for a distributed workforce.

6. Include details about the virtual program in your onboarding material for new members/employees.

1:1/ Small group connections are a no-brainer for making new members/employees feel at home in your organization. Be sure to include a blurb about Orbiit in your onboarding materials (you can use the text above in #2) and/or send them an email directly encouraging them to partake.

7. Encourage members to share their experiences.

Filter your Opt-Ins list by β€˜Power Users’ and ask if they would be willing to advocate for the member match program internally. If your organization is active on Slack, ask them to share (or ask if you can share on their behalf) about their experienceβ€”who they have had conversations with, something they learned, how they've stayed in touch, or a screenshot of their video chat. Have fun with it!

8. Reach out directly to VIPs.

If there are people on the invite list who haven't yet signed up, send them a quick note directly to encourage them to register. Feel free to copy the sample text below and use/edit it as you see fit. *Items to be reviewed/updated are italicized.

9. Build excitement (and create FOMO!)

Consider including stats or testimonials (you can leave out someone's name/company) in your opt-in or reminder email copy to build excitement and create FOMO for a match round. Here's an example below. Feel free to copy over and update your organization's stats! *Items to be reviewed/updated are italicized.

Example: Data-driven outreach

It's time for another round of matches to go deeper into your professional challenges, goals, and interests with a peer in our community. Whether you've signed up for a conversation yet or not, we wanted to share some highlights:

  • We've made over 100 matches to date

  • When asked how strong of a fit your match was for you, on a scale of 1-5, you've reported a 4.8/5, on average

  • Here are a few examples of what members said about their previous conversations:

    • "Tangible next steps on how to improve what I'm doing!"

    • "Expertise in an area I need help with and a potential mentor"

    • "A safe space for both of us to vent"

    • "A few resources for freelance which will be great when I need contractors in the future"

10. Personalized outreach to non-adopters.
