Topic Description (this will appear in the opt-in email and sign-up form for your engagement)

Raising capital is one of the most challenging (and laborious) parts of launching and growing a business. From building relationships to perfecting your pitch, it's an intense process that touches all areas of the business. Despite the obstacles, fundraising is vital to funding your growth and building a group of key advisors and investors whose influence will provide long-term support and guidance.

Areas of interest (participants will select 1-3 of these when they sign up for the conversation, and they will be matched with someone with similar interests)

  • Outlining funding goals & objectives

  • Building an exhaustive budget

  • Building relationships with investors

  • Developing a winning pitch deck

  • Crafting a compelling narrative

  • Building a strong advisory board

  • Preparing for fundraising when you're not looking to raise

Discussion questions (these will appear as part of the agenda that is sent to participants the day before the conversation, and they are also listed in the calendar invite)

  • Describe your most recent fundraising experience. What went well, and what were the things you'd do differently if you could go back?

  • What part of fundraising do you generally find most challenging? What part is most exciting?

  • How do you build and maintain relationships with investors?

  • Are you planning to fundraise soon? If so, how are you preparing? If not, what passive relationship-building/investor relations efforts are you practising in the meantime?
